Can something be too simple?

We live in a highly complex world. The things we create get also more complex each day. Sometimes we have to simplify our creations. But is there a degree of simplicity which is too much?

Maybe a little quote from Einstein could help with the thinking.

Simple

I used the texture vintage wax from ~TSPStock and if you want you can make your own wallpaper using the triangles from here

New Zealand with a Nex-7

What kind of lenses do you take on a trip to New Zealand? The choices could be many, depending on the camera system. The good thing is that I have a Sony Nex-7.

There are not many lenses for the Sony E mount. That way the choices are not many. I have not many lenses either and chose to take two. The lenses were my two favorites at that time:

  • Sony 50mm f/1.8
  • Sigma EX DN 19mm f/2.8

You could take millions of pictures in New Zealand. Don’t panic. You do not have to watch them all. I selected some for you and offer a video (unstabilized and ungraded) as a short vacation for you.

BTW: Next time I would go for the Sigma EX DN 30mm f/2.8 and a 18-200 for video. Enjoy.

Quick test: Noise on Nex-7 video

I tried to find out what the impact of the ISO on video on the Nex-7, so I cycled through with the lens cap on. The noise was not that visible so I tried to do what you usually try to avoid. I added brightness and sharpening.

Let me know, what you think. For me it prooves my experiences, that videos start get noisy with ISO bigger than 800.

Number of the day: 2%

I love parcels. This does not mean that I do not understand all the packaging. I ordered the Upgrade to Adobe Lightroom 4, which is a great piece of software by the way.

As much it was fun to get the CD out of the box out of the box out of the box, there is the one question remaining: Why use so much air to package such a great product, where a nice small package with the serial number would be more than enough?

2% are not packaging air
