If you hear Hamburg you can think of many things: You think of musicals, water, Reeperbahn, St. Pauli, Kiez, Elbe, Alster, Sternschanze, Altona and many more. I especially fell in love with all the reflections and lights. The following picture is made of 4 straight out of camera snapshots, stitched, cropped and finally I added a frame. Enjoy and add Hamburg to your vacation list.

Facebook is a bitch.
I am one of those people who randomly post their pictures on facebook. And I am one of these people who want their pictures to be seen – I consider them art and not instances of reality. So if somebody asks for a wallpaper I cannot say no.
This might explain why the picture looks like it is.
10mm have a very distinct look of its own and when you turn it into an HDR and apply the usual suspects: Contrast treatment, some glow, slight color shifting and some other lightroom thingies. Tataaaa – after approximately 100 minutes you get this.
Consider this a gift and use it as you like. Dimensions are FullHD (1920 x 1080) and license is creative commons. Have fun and consider sharing this post with your friends.
Or maybe you want to put this picture on your wall (german only)?
I took my panosaurus 2.0 for a first ride after the initial setup and tests. I took the opportunity and decided to shoot a small panorama in the blue hour.
Sunset in the autumn sky
The new office on the 19th floor gives some insights and beautiful sunsets. I need a nodal point adapter!
I was stuck in work lately and there were not too many moments to do some photography. But I used the time in the evenings and mornings to learn things on
- Panoramas
- Macros
- Lighting
I went out with my tripod to shoot a structured panorama in at least 3 by 2. I made it 4 by 2 but it was not convincing. Because I also experimented…
Another thing I wanted to try was a panorama with a wide angle lens. So I used my trusted Sigma portrait in 10mm and used a recipe which nearly always worked for me.
The recipe as always: 3 pictures using 9 brackets with Magic Lantern on my 60D, HDR created with HDR Efex, and panorama with Microsoft ICE.
There were problems with the distortion near the lens, like in the railing you can see on the left. I don’t know if the result is also there because of the horizontal lines. I will try to find out.
I am very pleased with the look of this picture. What is your opinion?
